We want you to get the care you deserve, from a therapy practice that gets it.
Transforming mental healthcare
The Liberation Coalition is a non-hierarchical collective of trans, queer, and BIPOC mental health professionals providing counseling throughout Colorado. We identify as a coalition because we seek action toward change both interpersonally and politically.
We focus on working with LGBTQIA+ community in the Denver Metro area examining symptoms of anxiety, depression, dysphoria, and identity development, along with relational and career difficulties. By developing a safe and collaborative environment, clients and therapists address issues of privilege, oppression, and internal bias.
A radical and community centered approach to healing
At the Liberation Coalition, we believe that therapy is inherently political. We put our efforts towards disrupting systems of oppression both individually and systemically. We go beyond being kind and welcoming to clients of diverse identities. All of our practitioners are skilled, trained and well versed in the impacts that homophobia, transphobia, racism and heterosexism have on their lives and community. Through this lens we offer personalized matching with therapists and a free initial consultation to all new clients.
Our Costs & Accessibility
Session Cost
Though The Liberation Coalition operates from a non-hierarchical perspective, the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) distinguishes therapists through various titles.
An intern has completed all coursework and has completed 150 hours of clinical experience.
A license candidate has received a MA in Counseling and Psychology and has completed 750 hours of clinical experience.
A licensed therapist has received an MA in Counseling and Psychology, and completed 2750 hours of clinical experience.
To establish care with a licensed therapist (LMFT or LPC) the cost is $180 per 55 minute hour. To establish care with a candidate for licensure is $150 per 55 minute session. Longer sessions are available upon request with your therapist.
When you schedule an appointment you are reserving that time. If you need to reschedule or cancel appointments 48 hours in advance. Any cancellations after the 48 hour window will be charged the full cost of the session. Any sessions scheduled out of your therapist's regular work schedule may incur an additional hourly fee. Please note that rates may increase on a yearly basis to account for administrative costs, inflation, and costs of operation.
There are limited sessions available for lower rates. We cannot guarantee the ability to provide sessions at a lower cost. However, we do aim to make therapy affordable for all people. Negotiable rate availability is something you and your therapist will need to discuss and establish before beginning therapy.
Insurance
Not all therapists at The Liberation Coalition accept insurance. Please discuss this with your therapist during your initial consultation. If you wish to submit receipts to insurance companies please let your therapist know you would like a Superbill. Superbills are available upon request and will need to be managed by you and your insurance provider.
